Abdul-Qadir Gilani Mosque Embellishes the City of Baghdad

The Mausoleum of Abdul-Qadir Gilani, situated in Baghdad, is one of the most important religious sites in Iraq. Originally erected in 1166, this site has undergone multiple renovations, resulting in its current stunning form. The mausoleum, consists of a harmonious blend of brick and stone construction.

Its exterior is adorned with turquoise blue whereas inside, visitors are welcomed into a labyrinth of courtyards and rooms meticulously embellished with intricate designs on both ceilings and walls. At the heart of the mausoleum, you can find a dome, adorned with verses from the Qur’an, serving as a celestial focal point for worship and reflection.
