The Ministry of Youth and Sports launched a practical awareness initiative focused on safety and civil defence during the Rajab pilgrimage to Kadhimiya – where thousands of pilgrims gather annually to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Musa ibn Ja’far.
The Ministry’s Civil Defense Department seized the opportunity to turn this major religious gathering into an opportunity for education and public safety awareness. The initiative supported processions by helping organisers prepare for the challenges that come with welcoming large crowds, prioritising fire prevention and emergency procedures awareness.
With the significant number of pilgrims passing through the city, these precautions were essential to ensuring a safe and orderly pilgrimage.
