The Ministry of Culture’s Dar Al-Mamoun for Translation and Publishing has launched today, 23 February, this year’s first edition of its quarterly English magazine, Gilgamesh, with a focus on the various Iraqi Women’s days celebrated in March.
The new digital edition featured a section dedicated to highlighting the role of Iraqi women in society as well as prominent Iraqi women, with the cover picture featuring Iraqi table tennis champion, Nagla Emad.
Iraq celebrates women in three days during March, including National Women’s Day on March 3, International Women’s Day on March 8, and Mothers’ Day on March 21.
Gilgamesh’s latest edition also includes articles on identity, history, and arts, as well as a review of the award-winning play, Phobia, by director Hussein Al-Thahabi.
