Under the banner, “Your government at your service”, staff from the Sports Talent Departments in Diwaniyah, Wasit, Babylon and Muthanna are dedicating their efforts to supporting visitors making the journey to Karbala for the Arbaeen pilgrimage – A religious event commemorating the life and passing of the prominent religious figure, Imam Hussein.
As part of initiatives run by the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ Department of Regional and Provincial Affairs, the teams have been on the ground providing vital services to the pilgrims.
The initiative is part of a grander scheme by the Ministry, who hope to play a more active role in supporting the spiritual and cultural heart of Iraqi society during this sacred occasion.
